Skincare Goals for the New Year: A Nightly Regimen!

Post sponsored by Mirum. Opinions are 100% my own.

Happy New Year! As we kick-off the new year with a fresh perspective and a clean slate of sorts, it's a great time to make some goals. Make an easy goal that you will stick to, like taking off your makeup at the end of every day. While you are at it, why don't you come up with a solid nightly skincare regimen? Trust me, your skin will thank you for it! It's the perfect New Year's resolution that you can stick to!

3-Step Nightly Skin Care Regimen

There is nothing better than fresh, bright clean and clear skin and that is what you will be blessed with once you stick to a nightly regimen. I've gotten really good about taking my makeup off at the end of the day, but the entire nighttime skincare regimen is definitely something that I can improve on. I am making it my goal and I'm hoping you will join me.

My new nightly skincare regimen really isn't that difficult and I don't see why I shouldn't be able to stick to it. And If I can stick to it, you can stick to it! Having the right products is key.

The entire regimen is three steps. THREE STEPS! Now that is easy.

Step 1: Remove makeup with Simple Micellar Water

I love micellar water cleansers and always start my double-cleanse routine with one. Simple Micellar Water is great for everyone and all skin types, even sensitive skin. It quickly and effectively cleanses away makeup, dirt, oil, and impurities while unclogging pores.

I apply a fair amount of the Micellar Water to a cotton round (enough to fully saturate it) and swipe it over my skin to remove all my makeup.

Step 2: Cleanse and Moisturize with POND’s Cold Cream Cleanser

Next, I finish my double-cleanse routine with PONDS' Cold Cream Cleanser.

POND's Cold Cream Cleanser is different than most cleansers as it is actually made with 50% moisturizer so skin is left soft and smooth as it is cleansed. It actually deep cleans and removes dirt and makeup you may have missed (goodbye stubborn waterproof mascara) while infusing skin with vital moisture all in one step.

Alternatively, you could use a product like Noxzema Classic Clean Original Deep Cleansing Cream. This cleanser is especially good if you have more oily skin or need an even deeper cleanse.

Step 3: Exfoliate with St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

An exfoliant is key to a natural glow and younger looking skin overall, and St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub is gentle yet effective enough (it's made with 100% natural exfoliants) to keep skin smooth and glowing. This scrub, which smells amazing, actually deeply exfoliates without being too harsh and is safe for sensitive skin.

I follow these three important steps up with a combination of serums, an eye cream and moisturizer. What I use specifically depends on how dry my skin is feeling and what time of year it is.

As you can see, the skincare regimen really is not that complicated and it's something I am going to make an effort to stick with.

More New Year Goals!

Another goal that I have this year is to be more eco-friendly and that's why I am going to incorporate more reusable shopping bags and totes into my life. I am constantly running to the grocery store and I swear I pop into CVS/pharmacy four or five times a week! I NEED to be more conscious about this— enough with the plastic bags! I like that I can use a reusable tote like the CVS/pharmacy reusable cotton tote bag to shop with and then bring all of my items home. I am done with the excess waste.
