I love anything customizable when it comes to makeup. Let's face it — we are all different and have many different wants and needs. MAKE UP FOR EVER recently launched the Artist Face Color Palette System and I love the idea.
The Artist Face Color Palette System is a collection of 34 pressed face powders in an array of shades to highlight, sculpt and blush. You build a palette by selecting a single, duo or trio pan palette and select your shades. It's easy to select which shades are which too; each shade uses a coordinating H, S or B number.
I like the system because there are times of the year that I use a blush, bronzer and highlighter and other times that I simply use a blush and bronzer. Alternatively, there are times you may only want your favorite highlighter or blush in a single pan, so that option is available too.
The powders themselves are excellent! The powders are finely milled and are silky, almost velvety soft. These powders melt into the skin as soon as applied and can be layered and blended with ease. The pigment is strong, and a little goes a long way with these shades.
Jessie J. (the brand and Jessie have an ongoing collaboration) created a palette with H106, B210 and S114. This palette is a perfect palette with a matte bronzer/contour, peachy/pink blush with gold shimmer and a glimmering gold highlighter.
I created a few of my own palettes. My trio palette contains H102, B302 and S112 for a fresh, natural glowy look that I can use year round.
I also put together a palette strictly for summer that I have in a Duo palette. For this palette, I included H106 and S116 for when I want a little bronze and glow shimmery, summer look.
I am keeping B308 in a single palette for when I want to a pop of apricot to my cheeks; it's matte blush shade.
See all of the shades in the Artist Face Color Palette System at makeupforever.com or Sephora. Each pan palette can be purchased individually for $2, or you can purchase them filled as follows: Single for $25, Duo for $35 or Trio for $45.
