I have some a blend of blonde hair. It’s not natural and I will honestly admit that. I have been dying my hair lighter shades and different shades of blonde for probably thirty years.
Maintaining blonde hair is no easy task. Because of all the bleach, ammonia and peroxide coupled with heat styling and other styling products, my hair is subjected to serious damage. As a “blonde”, a few things that I seem to constantly battle include brassiness, dullness and lack of shine. Sure I try different products and thanks to most of these products, I can say that my hair condition is really good. But those products don’t curtail the brassiness or help me go lighter when my locks fade between colorings.
I’ve been alternating between a few different products from John Frieda to help take special care of my blonde hair this summer.
For brassiness, I like to use a purple shampoo and conditioner and my latest love is the John Frieda Violet Crush for Blondes.
John Frieda Violet Crush for Blondes Purple Shampoo and Conditioner is a simple and effective way to coax bright and beautiful color out of dull, fading and brassy blonde locks. It works through the power of crushed purple pigments to restore color-treated, highlighted or naturally blonde hair to that “just stepped out of the salon” luster that us blondes crave. I only need to use this dynamic duo once a week to keep my brassiness in check.
When I want to go brighter and lighter, which I especially like to do in the summer, I turn to a few different products from John Frieda, as well. Also simple to use in Shampoo & Conditioner form, I use the Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo and Conditioner two or three times in a row and I use it whenever I need to brighten things up, to gradually lighten my hair. This simple one-two step really brings out my highlights. It does’t alter my permanent hair color whatsoever.
Once in a while, instead of the conditioner and when I have some extra time, I will sub in the Go Blonder Lemon Miracle Masque for extra strengthening and conditioning. Made with lemon oil, this hair mask strengthens lightened blonde hair and protects it from future damage. It does this by creating millions of new bonds onto hair to restore damaged fibers. My hair is left brighter, looking blonder (even though the formulas don’t deposit color) and stronger.
