Just In: Urban Decay Lash Freak Mascara

Since removing my eyelash extensions about 4 months ago and trying a few different lash conditioners to encourage growth, I have been quite experimental with mascaras. I will share my list of chosen few soon, but in the meantime, I am certainly here for trying the latest like Urban Decay Lash Freak.

Urban Decay Lash Freak Mascara

Just as the name suggests, Lash Freak features a new, one-of-a-kind freaky looking brush, in a neon green tube, with a formula that promises your “freakiest, biggest lashes” yet. I will say that upon my initial inspection, the brush is quite freaky, with 3 different sides.

The brush in the Lash Freak tube is designed to provide volume, definition, and lift ALL while giving you 23.6 times more volume and 40% more visible length from the formula. Did I mention that it’s a longlasting formula, too? Check, check, and YES for a longlasting, smudge-proof, flake-proof, and sweatproof formula.

Looking at the brush, I needed directions. As there are 3 different sides, I needed to know what each brush side was designed to do. I wanted to get the most bang from the brush, so I did some investigating.

First, there is the asymmetrical brush side; this is what I start with to load up every lash. The formula is deep, bold, and black and I had no problem coating each lash and creating instant volume. I then went in with the budding tip to give my lashes a bit of extra definition. I didn’t experience any clumping on my first coat, but it did come in handy on coats two and three. Finally, I sort of flipped and reversed the wand so that the curved side was at the base of my lashes, at the root. This gave my lashes a bit of lift and extra “hold”.

I am here for the volume and extra drama, but as I did layer it on, I did get a few bumps and clumps that I needed to work out with the budding tip. It wasn’t a clumpy formula whatsoever; I think it is more of my thin lashes trying to hold a lot of mascara. It is also not very noticeable until you are up close.

Will I be adding Lash Freak to the list of my chosen few? Absolutely!
