I could not be more happy that summer is finally here. Summer is my favorite season and I have plans. Woo! I don't have a lot of major summer plans because, for one reason, I can never figure out what I want to do; also I am pretty impulsive and take off on a moments notice. I thought it would be fun to come up with a list of some things I do plan to do or at least want to do this summer.
This may seem obvious, but I do not relax enough. Even when I am watching TV, catching up with my husband or trying to unwind, I always seem to be doing it at my desk. I am overloaded with work for what seems to be all the time. I am not complaining, but I need to step away from my desk more and really focus on myself and taking the time to relax. I am going to take weekends off — totally off this summer, and leave my desk (and all the work on it) at 6:00 PM each night.
Like most people, I live a life connected to electronics. When you live a life online and have a job in social media it is hard to unplug, but I am really going to try to for a few hours a day. I plan to put all devices away (except for my phone) on weekends.
3. Take Better Care of My Hair
Yes, I am going to take better care of my hair. I spend a fortune coloring my hair and with summer fun comes hair damage on top of the damage I already have. This summer, I am using Suave Honey Infusion Shampoo and Conditioner to fight unruly hair, frizz and damage.
- Suave Professionals® Honey Infusion Shampoo gently cleanses my hair and scalp while giving my strands strength. The shampoo also helps to protect against further damage, leaving hair 10x stronger in just one use! I am addicted to the long-lasting bright, summer scent.
Suave Professionals® Honey Infusion Conditioner deeply conditioners hair to further strengthen strands. I love how smooth, shiny and manageable my hair is. It is noticeably better looking! This conditioner is even salon proven to strengthen as well as Pureology® Strength Cure® salon products!
4. Visit Friends
Because I am always working, running with the kids or working on number seven below, I have neglected some friendships. Summer is the perfect time to catch up and I plan to do just that.
5. Go to the Beach
I love going to the beach; I have been going to the beach since before I could walk and it is one of my very favorite things to do. I am lucky enough to have both Connecticut and Rhode Island beaches only about an hour from me; plus Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket are only a few hours away. I plan to take advantage of all of the nearby beaches this summer. Though I didn't need a quiz to tell me what my perfect summer activity is, I found it fun to see if it really was my perfect summer activity (it was!). Also, by taking the #SuaveSummerQuiz, I unlocked a $1 off Suave coupon that I can use on my new favorite Suave Honey Infusion Shampoo or Suave Honey Infusion Conditioner at CVS. 6. Get Organized
I need to hire someone to get me organized. Seriously. I have boxes of stuff that needs to be brought here, there and everywhere — I just can never find the time to get rid of everything so I can even begin to organize. I need to clean out my closet, my laundry room, my office... the list goes on. I am in need of some serious organizational help.
7. Finish the Summer Cottage
In number four above, I mentioned I was working on something and that is a summer cottage on a lake. We have been working on this cottage for over six months now and re-doing everything from top to bottom, both inside and out. It seems like a neverending project. Just when it seems like the cottage is almost finished, something else comes up. I plan to get it totally complete by the end of July so that I can do number one, two and four above!
8. Don't Sweat the Small Stuff
Maybe because I am overworked and too plugged in, I have been stressing over the small things that usually don't bother me. I need to get back to that place where I stop worrying about the little things. Does anyone have any advice so I can stop worrying about things that don't matter?
9. Exercise More
I have been pretty good about my morning and evening walks, but I want to up my exercise routine. I am thinking that I should join a local "train your way to 5k" club or ease my way into a boot camp class.
10. Save Money When I Shop
I have two kids in college and that means I need to shop smarter. I love to shop at CVS and stack up my extrabucks rewards. CVS is running special offers on Suave this summer and I plan to take advantage and stock up on my favorite shampoo and conditioner!
