As I am very dry this time of year, between the sun, self-tanning and well, just naturally getting older, I was looking for something different. Something to nourish my dry, aging skin.

Many of the at-home recipes I found were for facial masks made with Milk. Well, that is an ingredient I certainly always have in the fridge, so I decided a Milk Mask was the way to go. You see milk contains proteins, sugar, a whole bunch of vitamins and natural lactic acid. This naturally helps in cell rejuvenation - as in helping the skin cells turn over faster. The nourishing benefits also rehydrate and help ward off dehydration to start with.

I made my Milk Mask with the following: 1/4 Cup of Granulated Sugar, 1/4 Cup of Brown Sugar, 1 Tablespoon of Honey, and enough Milk - I used whole milk, to make it into a paste. I used just a bit shy of 4 Tablespoons. After mixing the paste, I applied the mask with my fingers all over my face, and let it sit for about 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes, I ran a wash cloth under very warm water and placed it over my face for a few minutes and let the heat help nourish the milk and other wonders into my skin before wiping it off. My face felt so soft and hydrated. So much so that I didn't use moisturizer right after. I actually slept with a clean face. And it still felt wonderful in the morning.
I love finding something that works, especially with a natural, nutrient rich natural product - like Milk! Yes, it does do a "body good". Both inside and out! ;)

The Superstar Collection from LORAC.

If this collection is not worthy of swooning over, then I don't know what is. It is both an exciting and un-nerving time for all of us. New schools, new teachers, new routines. Saying good-bye to Summer, our favorite time of year. Getting back into homework habits. Getting the kids out of the house for six hours a day. They all have their pros and cons.

The hardest thing I discover about getting back to the going back to school routine is the mornings. No matter how early we get up or how prepared I think I am, we are always rushing and pressed for time.

One of the easiest ways to shave off some time in the morning routine is by lightening up your makeup routine. One of the smartest things to invest in is a makeup palette with products for eyes, cheeks, and lips in one place. Using a palette or kit will not only simplify your makeup application,
it will cut down on the time you spend fishing through your makeup bag
to find the perfect products to go with your daily look.

There are a lot of great palettes out there, but my heart belongs to just a few. While I am just recommending those here, you would be smart to look for your own favorite to help get your look and day off to a great start.

Too Faced The Bronzed & The Beautiful Bronzing Powder palette contains the perfect selection of bronzers to take your look from Summer to Fall with ease. But I am using it now and am addicted. I was not sure how I would like it as I love the way the light lotion of the original Purity feels, but this one is almost more moisturizing, if you can believe that.

You can really get away with two pumps to totally cleanse, but I love the feel of the rich foam and usually pump the pump four or five times for a whole lot of product. It is light and rich a the same time. Makeup, oil and dirt is removed while making my face feel less dry. Like I said, the moisturization felt is surprising.
You need to try this and you will be changed - I swear. You can pick up the original form of Purity (available in a few different sizes) and the new High-Foaming Daily Cleanser, also in multiple sizes, at philosophy.com, Sephora, sephora.com, beauty.com nordstrom and QVC.
