As October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I like to support the various efforts, this months Beauty News Roundups on Sundays will highlight various efforts from our favorite beauty brands.

P&G Beauty's Do Something Beautiful
This years the P&G Beauty Breast Cancer Awareness campaign focuses on spreading the word on the importance of early detection through regular health screenings. Read the real-life stories of 6 different P&G employees who have been impacted by breast cancer and be inspired.  You will see these employees in advertisements throughout the month as well as on the P&G Beauty Facebook page. Make sure you “like” the page as P&G will donate $0.10 to National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) for every "like" it receives.

Also, throughout the month of October, shoppers will receive a $10 rebate and will also trigger a $10 donation to NBCF with the purchase of $50 worth of P&G Beauty products, including Venus, Olay, Secret, CoverGirl, Nice ‘n Easy, Pantene, Safeguard and Ivory.

Look in your newspaper today and on October 16 for GIVE Hope brandSAVER flyers. In it you will see  discounts for P&G products, including Olay, Pantene, Crest and many more. Additionally, for each GIVE Hope brandSAVER coupon redeemed, P&G will make a donation to NBCF.

Here are just some of the events happening this week for Fashion's Night Out coming up this Thursday, September 8th. These caught my eye, and I hope to hit up a few of them in NYC.

Sephora
Sephora will be hosting interactive events at nine of their Manhattan locations in celebration of Fashion’s Night Out, the most anticipated global fashion initiative of the year. Sephora has pulled out all the stops to make this year one to remember with help from the hottest names in beauty making personal appearances, including Kat Von D, Kate Walsh, Solange Knowles, Josie Maran and HBO® series, True Blood’s™, Kristen Bauer. That’s not all! Exclusive products from your favorite beauty brands Stila, Nails Inc., Make Up For Ever and Urban Decay will be available at all nine Sephora locations on this night only.

M·A·C
M·A·C is celebrating Fashion’s Night Out on Sept. 8 with a killer performance from Beth Ditto in our Soho store. For M·A·C fans outside of New York – or those looking to avoid the crowds – we’ll be livestreaming her set at www.facebook.com/maccosmetics at 8pm.

Lancôme
This year, Lancôme is offering triple the beauty-loving fun at three iconic New York City retailers: Sephora Times Square, Macy’s Herald Square and Saks Fifth Avenue. Lancôme video makeup artist Michelle Phan will be meeting and  greeting fans at Sephora Times Square (1500 Broadway between 43rd & 44th Streets) from 7-9 p.m. to a backdrop of her new Hypnôse Doll Lashes video. Sephora makeup artists will also be on hand offering lash transformations using Hypnôse Doll Lashes, Lancôme’s latest mascara innovation, and new Color Design 5 Pan Palettes.   Lancôme spokesmodels Arlenis Sosa and Elettra Wiedemann—two of the dolls of the Hypnôse Doll Lashes campaign—will be overseeing “doll lash” makeovers from 6–8 p.m. Arlenis will be directing at Macy’s, while Elettra will be doing the honors at Saks. All looks will be at the hands of the stores’ talented makeup artists.

Votre Vu
The VuBAR, Vu’s customized, 27-foot Airstream, will be stationed in front of the Soho House on 9th Ave between 13th and 14th Sts for what promises to be a truly French fête.  The famed VU-Lin Rouge MC will wrangle crowds to watch authentic performances by French Can Can girls and a contortionist, and a photographer will be on hand to document the revelry and snap photos of guests with performers. In addition to sampling Votre Vu’s handcrafted, French-made skincare, guests can taste SnapDragon Beauty Beverage chilled in an ice luge and distributed by Votre Vu’s very own SnapDragon Sprite.

Kick off Fashion's Night Out with a charitable purpose by giving support to the honorable people who lost their lives during the horrific 9/11 attacks. When you shop at Barney's Madison Avenue flagship store from 10 AM to 10 PM on September 8th , 3LAB will give 10% of its Madison Avenue store’s sales and 10% of Barneys.com sales from the entire day and evening to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
